Looking for an adventurous way to explore Vietnam? This tour takes you from Ho Chi Minh city to Hanoi.

On the backseat of a motorbike, you will drive from Dalat to the charming French colonial town of Hoi An and get a sense of the real Vietnam beyond the tourist trail. You will experience the local hill tribe culture and their customs as you will make stops at the countryside of Vietnam. Also, you will be amazed by the beautiful nature you pass by. End the tour in Hoi An and relax before you head to the atmospheric imperial capital of Hue. Continue the adventure and discover Halong Bay. Halong Bay is famous for its impressive caves, emerald green water and the ancient limestone karst. It is simply beautiful and worth a visit.

Day 1:  Arrival Ho Chi Minh

On arrival at Tan Son Nhat airport, you'll be pick-up and transferred to the hotel in the downtown.

Day 2:  Scooter tour in Ho Chi Minh

Scooter tour in Ho Chi Minh

Be ready for pick-up service from your hotel at 08:00AM. After a warm greeting and introduction of sitting on the back of a scooter and the tour program, we start zipping through Saigon streets and back alleys to explore brilliant gems of the city.

The first stop is a green monumental park where you admire a beautiful statue of Thich Quang Duc sitting in the fire while you’ll listen to the heart-broken story about the monk who self-immolated in protest against Ngo Dinh Diem’s anti-Buddhist policies in 1963. Afterwards, we’ll take you to one of the city’s oldest apartment building area which is home to hundreds of Saigon people for over 50 years.

The next stop is a big local flower market where you get lost in lines of flower shops selling countless of colorful flowers and flower arrangement tools. Next to the flower market is a local wet market where you see live animals, fresh vegetables and fruits, clothes, kitchenware, household items, street foods, etc. Both markets are hidden in small alleys which are interesting to explore.

After that, we visit a peaceful and beautiful pagoda in an alley in China Town which is home to Chinese people in the city. Next, we drive to see beautiful old houses in the small Hao Sy Phuong alley which has existed for over 100 years. Altars in Chinese styles, nice ornamental trees and the local life are worth to learn about.

The last stop is a secret weapon bunker where you can climb down to explore the places where Vietcong soldiers hid weapons and learn about Vietnamese history. After a sip of Vietnamese coffee, we’ll return to the hotel.

The rest of the day is free, and you have time to explore the city on your own.

Day 3:  Ho Chi Minh to Dalat

Ho Chi Minh to Dalat

Wake up, enjoy a breakfast and take a morning bus trip from Ho Chi Minh City to Dalat. The bus trip takes about 6 hours. Transportation from the hotel to the bus station in on your own expense, but the bus ticket is included in the price.

On arrival in Dalat, check in to your hotel.

Day 4:  Easy Rider Tour – Dalat to Lak

Easy Rider Tour – Dalat to Lak

Get ready for an adventure – you’re in for the ride of your lifetime! The next 6 days you will experience Vietnam from the backseat of a motorbike.

Your guide and motorbike will come to your hotel in Dalat and pick you up at around 08:30AM. Look forward to an adventurous day with open roads and stops along the way.

Drive through the forest path without much traffic, nor tourists. You will pass some of the most beautiful countryside sceneries and even join the local people’s lifestyle. During the day you will visit flower farms and tea and coffee plantations. You will even stop at a farm producing Weasel Coffee – try if you can taste the difference.

Not least you will experience rice wine cooking and visit a silkworm factory. Pass the pagoda with the happy Buddha and go to the flushing Elephant waterfall where you (if time allows) can do a small trek down to see a cave at the falls.

Ride through the jungle and visit the Jun Minority Village before settling into your hotel for the night.

Day 5:  Motorbike from Lak Lake to Buon Me Thuot

Another day with great excursions awaits you. Pass by rice fields and local life of locals doing their daily deeds of farming and fishing. Trek to the top of the Elephant Rock Mountain and go by the Ho Chi Minh Trail to visit the Dray Sap and Dray Nu Falls. Located in a scenic setting, these falls are named after the mist created by its strong cascades.

Swim in the Fairy Pool and take a water massage from the waterfall, before you head for your accommodation for the night.

Day 6:  Motorbike from Buon Me Thuot to Pleiku

Continue your drive on the old Ho Chi Minh Trail to learn about the history of the Vietnamese people during the French colony and the vivid war. Understand the daily life of the highlanders who lived along these roads and the impact it had on them.

Not least, see how the local beloved rice noodles are made. Visit a cassava farm, rubber plantations, cashew and black pepper plantation.

Day 7:  Motorbike from Pleiku to Kon Tum

Before driving today, you’ll have some time to wander around in Pleiku city. Then head to the green fields of the Bana and Gia-Rai people, see the local pagoda and listen to their traditional music.

Head to a lake, which used to be a volcanic crater that stopped working a million years ago - a great place to take good photos. Continue travelling to Kon Tum where you visit Kon Tum prison (since 1930), visit the French wooden Church and the Kon Tum orphanage. Stopover in Kon-Ktu village to see their traditional Rong houses. Learn about their customers, traditions and culture through their daily life.

Day 8:  Motorbike from Kon Tum to Kham Duc

Jump on the motorbike for another day on the Ho Chi Minh trail. Visit the well-known Phoenix Airport and Charlie Hill to know more about the war between Northern and Southern of Vietnam. Stop over at the corner where the three Indochina countries of Lao, Vietnam and Cambodia meet.

See T'Trieng Minority Village and try crossing Monkey Bridge before you find your accommodation for the night.

Day 9:  Motorbike from Kham Duc to Hoi An

Motorbike from Kham Duc to Hoi An

Follow the Ho Chi Minh trail to understand more about the Vietnam war. You’ll get to enjoy the beautiful view and fresh air in this area on the way.

Get a water massage along the Trail, stop over at a minority village to discover the local's culture and customs and explore the local markets. Visit a pineapple plantation and enjoy the taste of fresh pineapple, visit Cao Dai Temple and the Cham Tower.

See how rice paper is made, how the locals make incense and how bricks are cut and prepared. End your motorbike adventure in Hoi An and check in to your hotel for the night.

Day 10:  Hoi An on your own

Enjoy Hoi An on your own and rest after some adventurous days on the backseat of the motorbike.

Day 11:  Hoi An Culinary & Active Experience

Hoi An Culinary & Active Experience

Wake up, have breakfast and be ready for pick up at 8:30AM from your hotel. The pick-up service will take you to the starting point of today’s experience.

The tour starts by cycling along the Thu Bon River and paying a visit to a local fishing village. Continue riding at a peaceful pace along country lanes while taking in the mesmerizing natural surroundings. Observe local life on the go and pause to see farmers toiling in their rice fields using centuries of farming practices. Peddle your way through palm forests, across bridges and past fields of water buffalos.

Take a short break with a local family at Cam Thanh Village before enjoying an hour ride in one of the famous, yet traditional round Basket Boats in the Water Coconut Palm Forest.

Continue riding your bike to Tra Que Organic Vegetable Village where a large variety of vegetables are produced for the local community. At the village, you will be shown the environmentally sustainable practices, which the local villagers have used for centuries and are still being used extensively today. Visit a local family and after a short, informative and fun cooking lesson, we sit down for a delicious lunch. Enjoy!

After lunch, ride back to your hotel. The tour ends around 3:30PM.

Day 12:  From Hoi An to Hue

Be ready for pick up from your hotel at 09:00AM and transfer to Hue by a private car. On arrival in Hue, you will check in to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day on you own.

Day 13:  Night train from Hue to Hanoi

After having breakfast in the hotel, you will have time to explore the city. Check out before 12:00pm.   

We’ll pick you up at 3:50PM and transfer to the train station for a night train to Hanoi (train SE2: Departure - 4:35PM and Arrival 05:30AM).

Day 14:  Start your Halong Bay adventure

Start your Halong Bay adventure

On arrival in Hanoi take a taxi to Medallion Hotel at 11 Ma May str., Hanoi (on your own expense). You’ll get a room for the early check-in and have breakfast.

We’ll pick you up from your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter between 8:00-8:40 AM and we'll drive you to Halong Bay. You’ll enjoy the peaceful scenery as we drive through the countryside and admire the endless rows of rice paddies.

By noon we’ll arrive at Tuan Chau harbor, board on our boat, relax and enjoy your lunch as we cruise along Halong Bay. We'll head to Titop or Soi Sim Beach to swim, relax or take pictures. If time permits, we can go for kayak or explore the Ho Dong Tien (Fairy Lake Cave) or the Sung Sot (Surprising Cave). We’ll return to the boat and learn how to make spring rolls.

In the evening, you’ll enjoy a dinner on the boat and relax or party with the on-board karaoke, squid fishing or just knock back a few drinks on the sundeck.

Day 15:  Halong Bay to Cat Ba Island

Rise early to enjoy the sunrise before breakfast is served. We’ll be cruising and enjoy the view over Halong Bay beauty.

Around late morning, you’ll arrive to Gia Luan Pier to take another transfer by bus to Cat Ba Town. Once we arrive to Cat Ba Town, we’ll drop you off at your hotel to check-in.

Before afternoon, you'll head to Beo harbor by bus and board on boat to continue to Lan Ha Bay. Your lunch is served on the boat. Once we arrived at Van Boi area, you can go for swim, high jump and kayak. If time permits, we'll also go visit the Monkey Island. 

By late afternoon, you’ll get off the boat and take the bus back to your hotel in Cat Ba. Dinner is served at the restaurant of your hotel. The evening is free for you to enjoy.

Day 16:  Cat Ba Island to Halong and to Hanoi

Cat Ba Island to Halong and to Hanoi

Wake up early and have breakfast at your hotel before checking out from your room. You will be picked up by bus for your trip to Cat Ba National Park at 08:00AM, where you will be doing a 1.5-hour trek at the national park.

By late morning, you'll arrive to Gia Luan Pier, board on the boat, enjoy your lunch that will be served while cruising along Halong Bay. Around noon, you'll be back to the mainland and take the bus to Hanoi. You’ll arrive to Hanoi Old Quarter by late afternoon.
